Another Beautiful Monday….following a weekend that was busy and productive. I attended and participated in a health and wellness event that has a plethora of amazing life changing products. I sampled and purchased… and met some excited and passionate new friends.
I am approached daily by someone that is overflowing with enthusiam for a new  incredible business venture because they believe in their product and they  can help alot of people and most important  they can make a ton of money….and as I listen and let them share their vision of how their life is going to be changed…that financial freedom is right around the corner….I often times get this icky sinking sensation in the pit of my stomach…..DANG.
Yes..I remember why I got into Network Marketing….anyone else out there have the fear of being a bag lady?
The dream…sandwiched with a good work ethic has the power to create a life that God envisions for you.

I know and you know Most Work from home companies  all say that….YOU CAN CREATE RESIDUAL INCOME and the fact is…. very few deliver.

You have probably already  learned there are much better ways to generate income than trading time for money, dollars for hours or years of your life for a salary that can be terminated  with barley a moments notice.

That’s why smart professionals are including a plan B along side of what they are currently doing. They are digging their well before they need their water.

Allow me to give you my definition of the Absolute best kind of income- I call it reliable, leveraged, long term income. Quite simply that is an income stream that pours in day after day, month after month, year after year, ideally decade after decade, for work you did with others(that gives you the leverage) in the past.

Whether large or small, $100, $300, $500, $1000, $5000, $10000. It is an awesome income. A life style changing kind of income , and a freedom producing kind of income.

 Let me ask you this?

What would happen if your child or your elderly parents suddenly  had a life threatening illness that required your care and attention. What would happen to your job? How would you pay your bills? Think of the peace of mind that comes with attending to those situations knowing you have a steady reliable income to support you when you need it.

This Idea of residual income has attracted hundreds of thousands of people, over the last 50 years  to network marketing,   and direct sales.. and of those 95% failed. How many of you want to throw your time energy, and reputation into an industry with those kind of odds?

The sad reality is that 95% of the people that start a home based business fail. That’s 95%!  And the 80/20 rule… 80% lose 20% wins  dominates in most Mutilevel marketing companies.

It is sad to say but ask any honest hearted MLM leader and the vast majority of participants have never achieved any significant income and I do mean the vast majority.  I have spoken to hundreds.

In fact for most, rather than building long, term reliable, leveraged income, they have experience reoccurring residual losses. They garaged qualified themselves with  more product than they can use or sell in exchange for commissions that rarely covered the costs.

Far from what was represented when they joined.

That is one of the main reasons MLM has earned such a bad reputation. It has given people a distaste for the industry. I discuss others in my book.

Please don’t get me wrong here, my purpose is not to demonize the industry. In fact the right business model can provide you with your dreams. Though the failure rate is high, thousands are joining the home-based arena daily  hoping to  create residual income with a plan B.

How about we turn those numbers around. What if the 80% could win working from home. $100, $300, $ 500 a month will keep the average family out of bankruptcy.

“Our greatest glory is not in failing, but in rising every time we fall. Who said that? The very first entrepreneur confucius.

I am committed to pulling back that curtain, and exposing the truth about this very misunderstood industry.   WHAT INDUSTRY?  The work from home industry…  If you or someone you know has been sucked into  deals where they lost money, alienated their friends and family, and went to emotional extremes where they came off  looking like they were nuts,  and in many cases cost them their reputation, I invite you to sign up for you free copy of the 12 Critical Success Factors.

You will get the information you need to know that must be in place to win big in your home based business. You will be able to sort through the maze of companies, the plethora of scam and schemes, and learn how to identify a truly credible, proven business model, where the average person….even your mother yes your mother… can create long term, reliable leveraged income.  You will find the real deal without getting a raw deal.

All that being said…..There are hundreds of wonderful life  changing products available today….however a great product does not a great business make. That bears repeating  There are hundreds of wonderful life  changing products available today….however a great product does not a great business make. Some of you may have already experienced that.

May I tell you a little about myself?

I am a wife, mother and business woman. I have the same concerns for my family that you have for yours. As a former vice president of marketing for a nationally known company and the previous owner of a conventional  company, I have learned what works and doesn’t work in business.

I tired of the struggle and constraints of corporate life and conventional business. I wanted more time with my family and the money to enjoy it.  I teamed up and with a lot of hard work built a six figure MLM business.. After going from six figures to zero in my first MLM…I joined two other companies to develop income, worked hard, saw minimal results before I ran into their ‘GOTCHA’S.’

There is no emotional agenda here.

I felt compelled to write this book to save others much of the heartache, aggravation, and despair I have experienced throughout my journey and provide a real road map for success working from home.

My goal is to lay out the advantages and pitfalls in home-based business models so you can select the right one that will fit your goals and objectives whether you are a novice or  seasoned in business.

I am committed to you 1000% and promise to give you VALUE beyond what you have ever heard before.  I will give you everything I know which I believe is transformational.

In order for me to accomplish this, I need to know that you and I are working together on this; we are a team that we are partnering for your success.

I am going to ask something of you?  Will you be open to receiving  the new ideas I am presenting?

I simply ask that you do your homework.  Take these critcal factors I am giving to you for FREE and see how many of the factors your business model has. You can have the most incredible product on the planet to sell…however if the business model lacks even half of these factors ….you have put yourself unknowingly into that 95% failure bracket.

Will you commit to using these factors in your business evaluation process? They could save you, time, money, your reputation and in some cases even your family.

Don’t become a statistic. Sign up for and get your copy of my FREE Critical Success Factors now.

A Wonderful Friday Story

Helen is such a wealth of inspiration. Here is her Friday Story.
Arthur and the Witch
Young King Arthur was ambushed and imprisoned by the monarch of a neighboring kingdom. The monarch could have killed him but was moved by Arthur’s youth and ideals. So, the monarch offered him his freedom, as long as he could answer a very difficult question. Arthur would have a year to figure out the answer and, if after a year, he still had no answer, he would be put to death.

The question…? What do women really want? Such a question would perplex even the most knowledgeable man, and to young Arthur, it seemed an impossible query. But, since it was better than death, he accepted the monarch’s proposition to have an answer by year’s end.

He returned to his kingdom and began to poll everyone: the princess, the priests, the wise men and even the court jester. He spoke with everyone, but no one could give him a satisfactory answer.

Many people advised him to consult the old witch, for only she would have the answer.

But the price would be high; as the witch was famous throughout the kingdom for the exorbitant prices she charged.

The last day of the year arrived and Arthur had no choice but to talk to the witch. She agreed to answer the question, but he would have to agree to her price first.

The old witch wanted to marry Sir Lancelot, the most noble of the Knights of the Round Table and Arthur’s closest friend!

Young Arthur was horrified. She was hunchbacked and hideous, had only one tooth, smelled like sewage, made obscene noises, etc. He had never encountered such a repugnant creature in all his life.

He refused to force his friend to marry her and endure such a terrible burden; but Lancelot, learning of the proposal, spoke with Arthur.

He said nothing was too big of a sacrifice compared to Arthur’s life and the preservation of the Round Table.

Hence, a wedding was proclaimed and the witch answered Arthur’s question thus:

What a woman really wants, she answered….is to be in charge of her own life.

Everyone in the kingdom instantly knew that the witch had uttered a great truth and that Arthur’s life would be spared.

And so it was, the neighboring monarch granted Arthur his freedom and Lancelot and the witch had a wonderful wedding.

The honeymoon hour approached and Lancelot, steeling himself for a horrific experience, entered the bedroom. But, what a sight awaited him. The most beautiful woman he had ever seen lay before him on the bed. The astounded Lancelot asked what had happened.

The beauty replied that since he had been so kind to her when she appeared as a witch, she
would henceforth, be her horrible deformed self only half the time and the beautiful maiden the other half.

Which would he prefer? Beautiful during the day….or night?

Lancelot pondered the predicament. During the day, a beautiful woman to show off to his friends, but at night, in the privacy of his castle, an old witch? Or, would he prefer having a hideous witch during the day, but by night, a beautiful woman for him to enjoy wondrous intimate moments?

What would YOU do?

What Lancelot chose is below.
BUT….make YOUR choice before you scroll down below.
Noble Lancelot said that he would allow HER to make the choice herself.

Upon hearing this, she announced that she would be beautiful all the time because he had respected her enough to let her be in charge of her own life.

Do you want to be in charge of your own life, yet don’t know where to start? Contact me….lets find your real deal.

The Quest for Perfection

Rarely does a day go by that I am not helping a person look for solutions to the problems they have run into with the companies they are working with.

Few if any network marketing firms offer all of the benefits simultaneously. If you demand perfection on every point, you’ll probably be disappointed. But your target company should at least have a vision and show evidence of moving in a progressive direction.

It should have a realistic timetable in place for modernizing telecommunications, expanding markets and product lines, improving turnkey systems, and balancing compensation plans. If you hold your company to a progressive standard, you’ll find yourself well positioned for growth.

In addition to everything we have just covered, there still remains that nagging question you may be asking yourself – can I succeed? I want to include a practical checklist that outlines 10 steps to succeed in direct sales.

Every year thousands of women across America sign on with direct selling firms – Melaleuca, Tupperware, Amway, or a cosmetic company – hoping to make enough money for new draperies, cover the cost of dance or cheer leading, karate….which are all expensive activities for their kids. Many will sell a little merchandise to a few relatives and close friends. Then they are through. They quit before they give themselves a chance to learn the basics of success in sales.

“I am simply not a born salesperson,” they often say. I can not tell you how often I have witnessed someone quit for that reason. No one is born a salesperson, any more than one is born a doctor, or born a lawyer. Sales is a profession. To be successful in any profession, one must learn not only the basic techniques, but also how to apply those techniques. Success in sales makes use of all the abilities one is born with, plus all those acquired through education and experience.

If you are looking for a career opportunity or “extra income” to help with the family budget, direct selling offers you dream-fulfilling possibilities. However, you must give yourself time to learn the techniques of sales. Ask yourself. “How long does a doctor study? A lawyer study?” In a future post we will look at the incredible industry of direct selling and why that might be important to you. Stay tuned.

Today we are going to look at a checklist with 9 steps to ensure your success.

The first nine steps are designed to help you evaluate whether your target company is legal, ethical and financially sound. Is it well positioned to thrive in the 21st century economy? The following checklist will help you separate the innovative companies from the dinosaurs.

  • Is the company wired? Look for a company that offers discounted telecommunication services to their distributors such as voice mail, voice broadcast system, Web hosting and Internet access: newsletters are available through fax, voice mail, or e-mail. Some companies even offer satellite television broadcast and video conferencing as well as video e-mail.
  • What turnkey system does it offer? Distributors should have access to a wide range of laborsaving systems, including high-quality printed sales materials: high quality prospecting videos, and audio cds or cassettes reasonably priced. Standardized training programs: teleconferences and satellite broadcasts, for prospecting and training: access to updated genealogies, group sales volume, instant order confirmation, and company announcements through fax, voice mail, e-mail or website: tracking reports of customers buying habits: direct fulfillment of customer orders to an 800 number and the conference website: 24- hour ordering, by credit card with no minimum on the number of units ordered, and guaranteed shipment from the warehouse within 48 hours with overnight delivery options available for an extra charge: a phone hotline to take distributor questions. So you don’t have to handle all of your downline’s queries personally.
  • Opportunity? Is there a high touch component to the The product or service should be one that lends itself to person to person selling. Those that require a good deal of lengthy explanation or personal testimony can be too difficult for the new person to grasp. Today, many companies have all product information available on DVD format or video format available for instant viewing or on command delivery.
  • Growth strategy? Does the company have a long-term A single product or service, no matter how successful will not sustain the company indefinitely; at the very least your company should have plans drawn up for inducing infinite momentum through product diversification and international expansion. A progressive company will position itself as a global distribution freeway moving goods and services for large number of third-party clients, on every continent.
  • Compensation plan? Does it have a progressive The compensation plan is a commission structure, the company, through which your income is calculated. Some companies offer a balanced plan that provides opportunity both for the little guy who works an MLM business on the side and the full-time business builder who aspires to achieve a significant income.

We will continue in a future post to examine the  Quest for Perfection. Few if any network marketing firms offer all of the benefits simultaneously. If you demand perfection on every point, you’ll probably be disappointed. Stay tuned to see why.

Montana seems to be on the warpath against network marketing companies claiming that some are operating more like pyramid schemes. On August 3rd, according to in Montana, Monica Lindeen, the Montana Commissioner of Securities & Insurance, has issued a cease and desist order and notice of proposed agency action against ACN, Inc., of North […]

When you least expect it….you are given the opportunity to show your stuff. Are you prepared?

The biggest barrier that most people have to overcome is fear. Fear of rejection. Fear of making decisions. Fear of change. Fear of confrontation. Fear of loss. Fear of failure. And of course the big one – fear of success! It is this fear (and all of its cousins like worry, anxiety, and self-doubt) that paralyzes you, and keeps you from succeeding. The thing that you are afraid to do is the next thing you need to do. Remember if Fear knocks at the door, let
Faith answer and there will be no one there!

Never let your Knowledge outweigh your Enthusiasm!

You can be an overcomer….DECIDE….Add Action…Persist…See Results!

You Can’t Do That!

My friend Helen sent this to me and it is just to powerful not to share. I thank God for every blessing he has given me and believe that  when others say….You Can’t Do That…I know that I can do all things with Christ who strengthens me.

Jeff Lograsso, a United States marine sergeant stationed in Japan, and his wife Regina sat in their hotel room in Korea, where they vacationed to watch a softball tournament. Their eighteen month old son, Kyle, played with the remote control to the television. He hit the button to change the channel over-and-over. On one punch of the button, a golf tournament or an infomercial about golf was on. His parents don’t remember which it was, but it was golf.

Kyle stopped. He focused on the television. The golfers intrigued him. He watched them swing. Kyle mimicked them with the remote control. When they swung their clubs, Kyle swung the remote.

Jeff, Regina and their son returned to Japan. They bought Kyle a plastic golf club. Whenever golf was on television, Kyle watched and swung his club with professionals. Golf became his Sesame Street.

Jeff didn’t golf, but a good friend of his did. He watched young Kyle swing and said, “Jeff, Kyle has a perfect swing.”

Jeff thought nothing of it. His son was not even two. It was too early to think of sports.

A few months before Kyle turned two, Regina noticed something strange. When Kyle turned his head in a certain way, and the light was just right, there was a white spot in her son’s eye. She took him to an optometrist. The doctor looked in his eye. “I think Kyle has a cataract.” He paused, looked again, “It sure looks like one. It can be removed easily, but just to be sure, I’m going to recommend a specialist.”

Regina watched as the specialist examined Kyle. She’d seen and experienced eye examines. The doctor seemed to take longer than normal. Time passed. Her anxiety grew. The doctor stared into Kyle’s eyes and finally looked up. “Mrs. Lograsso, I think this is more serious than a cataract. I think your son has cancer. It’s in both eyes.

“I’m certain Kyle has bilateral retinoblastoma. It’s a cancer that develops quickly in the cells of the retina and spreads. It’s very rare. Fewer than one hundred children in the United States develop it in a year.”

Regina sat in silence. Was she hearing correctly? Did her little boy have cancer? Her voice returned. Tears streamed down her cheeks. “What can be done?” she finally asked.

“I’m sorry, Mrs. Lograsso.’ The specialist stroked Kyle’s hair. “This is a very aggressive cancer. We have to remove his left eye. With chemotherapy, we may save his right. If we don’t do this, the cancer will spread to his brain. Your son will only live three or four months.”

Regina, stunned, said, “What?”

The doctor repeated.

Regina’s world spun. How could her little boy have cancer? He was too young!

“Mrs. Lograsso?” the doctor questioned.

She wiped tears from her eyes. “We’ll do what has to be done for Kyle.”

Jeff and Regina sat by Kyle’s bedside. A patch covered the spot where he once had a left eye. His recovery began immediately. Four hours after his operation, he stood on unsteady legs ands swung his plastic club. Kyle was going to be alright.

Kyle was fitted with a glass eye. Life returned to normal for a little while. One night he became ill. He labored for air. Regina stared at her young son as he gasped for air. She grabbed him up, wrapped him in her arms, put him in the car and sped to the hospital.

Part way there, she knew she wouldn’t make in time to save her son’s life. Regina pulled to the curb and knocked on the first door she came to. “Call 911!” she pleaded.

Regina sat in the back of the ambulance as the paramedic administered to her son. Kyle’s pulse dropped so low, the paramedic yelled to the driver, “You better hurry!”

Regina closed her eyes and prayed.

Kyle developed a blood infection due to the chemotherapy. His life was in jeopardy. They arrived at the hospital. His temperature was one hundred and five degrees. With treatment, the young man recovered. At the age of three, he defied death once again.

Kyle’s dad, Jeff, wanted his son to experience a real golf course, but he thought it best if his son took lessons first. He called several golf professionals in their area, but none would work with such a young kid. Only one man said, “I don’t normally work with children so young, but why don’t you bring him over? I’ll take a look at him and make a decision.”

The professional took one look at Kyle and recognized a Tiger Woods replica. He used his computer, superimposed Kyle and Tiger swinging together. They were a perfect match. Their swings were the same.

Kyle is just a little boy with an amazing talent. He has two older sisters. One day, he took his glass eye out and put it in the box of cereal his sister would eat for breakfast. She took a spoonful, started to chew, felt something, pulled it out, and began to scream. Kyle laughed and ran for cover.

Boys will be boys!

Jeff takes Kyle to the golf course whenever he can. Although he doesn’t know the game, Kyle does. Dad caddies and young Kyle plays. Jeff says people groan when they learn they have to play with a kid but they soon change their tone.

On the fourth hole of one round, a member of Kyle’s group called his wife. “Hun, you won’t believe this, but I am being beaten by a four-year-old boy!”

At the time of this writing, Kyle is seven years old and is cancer free. His best score is 89. For a nine hole course, it’s 38. These are scores I can only dream of. He would play more, but he has two older sisters. They need their parent’s attention for their activities too.

When I spoke to Regina, I asked her, “How does Kyle do it? I suck at golf, and I have two eyes. Just how does he do it?”

Regina said, “Mike, the doctors think he had little or no sight in his left eye from the beginning. He sees what he always saw.”

I thought about that. Young Kyle sees what he always saw. He grew up in a two dimensional world. It’s his world. No one told him he couldn’t golf, so he does it.

Kyle is the adventurer of this decade and many more to come. He will amaze many with his extraordinary skill and make us all reflect on the things we never attempted, because we were told, “You can’t do that!”

make money, work from home, home based businessMy Good friend Jim McCune passed on some invaluable food for thought I wanted to share with you. If you are not where you want to be in your business, profession and life why not? Great reflecting material. Grab a coffee and a goody and give yourself an honest evaluation.
Something magic happens when we accept personal responsibility for our behavior and our results. It’s not easy because human nature is to ‘pass the buck’. I know there have been times in my life when my business was struggling where I found myself blaming others, blaming the economy, blaming this, blaming that. But as I’ve gotten older (an a little wiser) when things go wrong in my business or my life, I can always find the culprit – in the mirror.
In every instance, it always comes back to choices I’ve made in my life that put me exactly where I am today. I have to say, this one ‘tweak’ in my attitude may sound like a little thing, but it has made a big difference in my life.
Authors Gallagher and Ventura wrote a great book about achieving success through personal accountability titled: Who Are ‘THEY’ Anyway? Here is a list of the benefits from adopting a ‘Personal Accountability Attitude’:
· You have more control over your destiny
· You become an active contributor rather than a passive observer
· Others look to you for leadership
· You gain the reputation as a problem solver
· You enjoy the satisfaction that comes from getting things done – the power of positive doing
· You experience less anger, frustration and helplessness – all leading to better physical health
· You realize a positive spillover effect into your personal life at home
The most important words of personal responsibility are:

The 10 most important words: I won’t wait for others to take the first step.
The 9 most important words: If it is to be, it’s up to me.
The 8 most important words: If not me, who? If not now, when?
The 7 most important words: Let me take a shot at it.
The 6 most important words: I will not pass the buck.
The 5 most important words: You can count on me.
The 4 most important words: It IS my job!
The 3 most important words: Just do it!
The 2 most important words: I will.
The most important word: Me.
“Your future depends on many things, but mostly yourself.”

Do you embrace any or all of these?  Become who you are meant to be. You do have a daily choice.

Summer’s Here….Are you Ready?

mlm, work at home, home, based businessIt’s definately summer here in Florida…I volunteered today for an art in the park event and in addition meeting a bunch of wonderful people it was very rewarding to give give back to my local community. As a writer and speaker I am often asked my for my thoughts about MLM Scams….A new one is introduced almost daily…..BEWARE. Here is the scoop…it is your responsibility to educate yourself.

1. MLM Scams And How To Avoid Them.
It’s no secret that when multi level marketing (MLM) is mentioned, many people think of illegal pyramid schemes and other scams. Follow these tips to check out an MLM company and you will be able to avoid MLM scams.
1) Contact the Better Business Bureau (, the State Attorney General’s office and the Federal Trade commission ( or 1-877-FTC-HELP) and at no charge you will be able to check the records of the MLM companies and will get some great tips about how to safely evaluate them.

2) Check Google and other search engines for “company name + scam” and you will find out quickly if there are complaints.

3) Check out home business message boards and for bad reviews. Obviously, there are always a couple of people that didn’t make money and want to blame the company. Do proper research and you will quickly know which distributor had a legitimate complaint as opposed to someone that was just plain lazy.

4) Go to and see if any problems are posted there.

5) Ask your attorney to review any documents before you sign them.

6) Present the entire program to a trusted friend and see what he or she thinks. Take his or her advice under consideration. You never know, if the company does turn out to be legit, then that friend is a great first recruit.

7) You should be focusing on selling products or services as well as recruiting more distributors. However, if it is all about recruiting…, proceed with caution and at your own risk.

8) Be leery of requests to make large purchases up front. Anything over $500.00 should be scrutinized.

9) All MLM’s, just like any type of business, require work. Beware of false promises of easy money-making schemes. Beware of guarantees such as “everyone is making money with this automatically.”

10) Do the math for yourself. Have a trusted advisor, friend, accountant or attorney check and make sure that the payout plan is actually feasible.

Beware of companies that want to sell products or services with false “miracle” claims to them. Actually, before you promote the products and services, use them yourself to make sure that you like them and WANT to promote them. See first how they work.

We will have insights from those that have been scammed in a future post….stay tuned…don’t let it happen to you.
